The Unmarked Crest Book Cover

I designed this book cover for a story that doesn’t exist yet, created purely out of my love for crafting book covers. I imagined a tale about a king who is exiled from his kingdom and stripped of his royal crest. Wrongfully accused, he must wander distant lands in search of a way to reclaim both his honor and his throne. Although the story has many layers, I wanted the cover to feel like an ornate, timeless artifact — the kind of book that feels rich with history. For the design, I focused heavily on symbolism: stars are woven throughout the pattern to represent fate and destiny, while vines intertwine across the cover to symbolize the king’s personal growth. At the center of the ornate design, I included a small portion of the story’s map, hinting at the broader world he must traverse. I also added a quote from the story on the back to intrigue and invite readers. The cover features a deep green cloth texture to evoke a sense of warmth and welcome, while the gold accents convey royalty, importance, and the heavy weight of the king’s quest.
