I tied Gimli’s character to both the packaging and the product in several ways, drawing from his heritage and personality. J.R.R. Tolkien created a rich and storied background for the dwarves, and Peter Jackson’s fi lm adaptation brought Gimli to life as a stout, red-bearded warrior who wields an axe.
